World Trade Center History
Ground was broken on August 5 1966. They were talking about building a world trade center for twenty years before that. First the north tower was begun in 1968. Followed colsely by the south tower 5 months later. 1970 was when the first spaces were occupied in the towers. At that time the construction had not even finished on the upper floors. The project was finished in 1973. At that time the twin towers were the tallest biuldings in the world, at 110 stories. The building had new technology at the time. The support for the tower was in 4 center beams. 9/11 was not the first time the towers were attacked. Parking garage was bombed in the 90's.
